Herd Health Planning:

Our experienced large animal vets are all very interested in preventing disease before it happens to improve overall herd performance. We would love to work closely with you to find areas of herd health you would like to improve and then to find practical and cost-effective ways of achieving your goals.  We use the SAHPS system, in conjunction with the SAC, to record as much information as we can gather and then use the information to provide achievable targets and highlight areas where improvements can be made. We can help formulate Johnes, BVD and/or IBR control plans working with the Premium Cattle Health Scheme or Highlands and Islands health scheme.

We offer in house worm egg counts to help improve the timing of worming treatment and prevent unnecessary drug use, and to detect wormer resistance. Other samples, liver fluke for example, are best sent to an external laboratory for testing.
